Description

Medusa’s Labyrinth is a mythological first person horror game set in ancient Greece. It take tales and legends that have stayed with us for over 2000 years and mix them together in a game that blends horror with stealth into a unique experience. The player will have to carefully pick their path through the abandoned hallways on Temple Island, through winding catacombs and massive amphitheaters to solve the mysteries that lurk within the labyrinth.

History

Guru Games was founded in 2013 by a group of enthusiastic students from the Skövde. We have worked on several projects, both big and small, the main one being Magnetic: Cage Closed, which was released in the summer of 2015 on Steam and later in August 2015 on XBOX One as well. We are now working on our new game, Medusa's Labyrinth.

Features

  • Immersion is everything. Horror is all about being a part of the experience and forget that you are playing a game. To enhance this you have no HUD, no health bars and no inventory screen to distract you from the experience. Want to know how many arrows you have left? Look at your quiver, and count them yourself, just like a person would do if they were there for real.
  • Ancient Greece is not just a unique backdrop for Medusa, it is a core part of the experience. Breathing life into myths and legends that are almost two thousand years old adds a richness and depth to the game.
  • A combination of stealth and horror. Great stealth is about tense situations where you figure out how to move past monsters unnoticed. With horror, you won’t stay too long in one place, because something is always hunting you in the shadows.

About Guru Games

Boilerplate
Guru Games is an independent game company working out of Skövde, Sweden. There are currently 4 members on our team and our goal is to create intense, story-focused experiences and games that you will play through in an evening but think about for a week. We want to leave players with something more than a short action extravaganza, we want to make them think about their actions within the virtual worlds that we create. We design our games in a way that let’s them choose their own path, but forces them to face the consequences of the choices they make. We believe that games should respect the players time and commitment, and therefore we focus on creating short games of high quality for busy people.
